BELGIAN RELIEF

In a cablegram,to the Acting-Prims Minister (Sir.James Allen), the High Commissioner (Sir Thomas Mackenzie) refers to a recent cablegram concerning Belgian relief funds not being necessary. The High Commissioner ' says : "The Foreign Office informs me that Whitaker's statements are partial observations, from which erroneous deductions have: been made; that the Relief Commission has preserved Belgian supplies from' German seizure, and that, owing to torpedoing of relief ships, the future work of the Commission is in doubt, but contributors can be confident that the money will .be used in accordance with the directions of the Imperial Government.".
