HEAVY ARTILLERY ACTIONS

LONDON, 10th May,

A French communique states : South of the Oise we carried out destructive artillery operations against German batteries in the St. Gobain forest. There is great artillery activity on the Chemin dcs Dames. We repulsed several counter-attacks in the Chevreux region. A local operation resulted in our capturing a German trench and prisoners north-west of Reims.

LONDON, 10th May. . A French communique states : The enemy at night attempted infantry reactions at various points at the Chemin dcs Dames, all of which broke down. A minor operation enabled us to extend our gains on the northern _ slopes of Vauclerc Platean, where we took prisoners belonging to a fresh division which had recently arrived. The artillery duel continues .fairly lively in all these sectors.
