GLOOMY & DRIZZLING WEATHER
A BAD WEEK-END LIKELY.
Gloomy and drizzling weather has been the state of affairs meteorologically to-day, in direct contrast to "yesterday, which was fine and clear. Stormy weather continues in the North, and there is a possibility of its extending to Wellington. Wanungs for heavy rain have been sent out. Rivers • are likely to rise in the noithe.rn districts. The barometer has fallen in the North, but' light atmospheric pressure rules in the South. The outlook for the weekend at the present time is not at all : cheering, as there is a possibility,, as before stated, ' that the disturbance which is gathering to the north-west of the Dominion may travel southward. In the event of this, all the North Is-, land and the north-east portion of the South. Island will experience bad weather. Northerly gales are forecasted for the North, with east to south-east increasing elsewhere. The barometer is likely to fall, especially in the North. Heavy seas are to be expected north of Klast Gape, considerable sea on t3ie West Coast, and rough elsewhere.
