SOLDIERS' CLUB

TO BE OPENED ON MONDAY. Invitations are being issued by the Mayor , and his committee for the opening of- the Soldiers' Club' at Trentham Camp on Monday afternoon. The Camp Commandant (Col. H. R. Potter) will preside, and the opening ceremony will be performed by Sir James Allen, Acting-Prime Minister. All the furniture for the club has now been delivered, and in addition a piano and two gramaphones have been placed in the club rooms. Three billiard tables have been /' presented by Christchurch, Auckland, and Wanganui, and it is anticipated.that another will be given by Dunedin. At present the furnishing finances show a. deficiency of £300 to : £400, but the Mayor hopes that when people see what a fine club has been provided this debt '•will be quickly cleared off. v _ " ' = -
