Just after 9 o'clock last evening, tha driver' of a taxi-car (which was proceeding up' the Hutt-road), in an endeavour to avoid a bicycle which was coming down on the wrong side, turned the car too quickly,, with the result that it mounted the footpath,.,and the forepart went through. the 'galvanised iron. fence which surrounds Dean Lane's grounds at Lower-Hutt.
