The Portland Express compiles the following list of "little surprises" : — "Mister, herels them five tons of coal you ordered this morning." "No, sir, this isn't the real, genuine olive oil; that's reason we sell it so cheap." ■ • "You don't need to waste any sympathy on me, old peg; lam satisfied with my job, my boss, and my wages." ■'Gentlemen, the conductor is asking us to move forward in the car. Come, on, there's plenty of room." "Young man,'' we find that we have not been paying you enough, so xve'll increase your salary ten* doflftrg a vwk, feeginsiag ta-cl*y.."- •' ■"
