M. MILIUKOFF AND RUSSIA'S DEMANDS
BOSPHORUS SHOULD BE NEUTRAL
(Received April 27, 8.45 a.m.) MOSCOW, 26th April. M Miliukoff (Minister for Foreign Affairs), in an interview, said that Russia had not received any official offer, which was possible as a basis of negotiation. He believed victory was certain. Russia demanded complete independence for the Austrian Slavs 1, and was willing that the Bosphorus should be neutral if there was to be freedom of international trade, but insisted on the right to exclude foreign warships, which was impossible unless Russia possessed the strait DEMONSTRATION IN SWEDEN (Received April 27, 8.40 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, 26th April. Tw«nty thousand people participated in a Socialist demonstration kt Malmoe! A resolution was passed demanding a treaty with England facilitating exports and imports, also an eight-hour, day and the exemption from, taxation of small incomes. ■ ( COPENHAGEN, 24th April. Strikes and hunger demonstrations continue in many Swedish towns. The military participated in several demonstrations.
