INCREASE IN FREIGHTS

Some little time ago the Union Steam Ship Company and the Huddart-Porker Company decided on an. increase in freights on cargo carried in their ships, as an outcome of the changed cojiditious brought, about by the war.... This.increase, came into force to-day, and, roughly, means that the freights .ph intercolonial, cargo have Been increased'by:ss per ton, 1 on general cargo oarried by coastal steamers 4s per ton, and on produce 2e' 6d p».t ton.
