MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Several inebriates, including four first offenders, were'dealt with, in the Magistrate's Court ,to-day, before Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M. On charges of drunkenness and breaking the terms of her prohibition order, .Evelyn Bare, was convicted and ordered to-come up for sentence when called upon. She was also ■warned that if she appeared again she would not be so leniently dealt with. For drunkenness, Andrew Hope was filled 20s, with the alternative of serving seven days in gaol. Charged with theft of a gentleman's overcoat and lady's fur necklet, David John Bonrke pleaded guilty. He had a somewhat unenviable record, and was sent to gaol for three months on. each charge, the terms to be cumulative.
