Wireless, per Admiralty Press: German official: Our counter-thrusts balanced strong British attacks against Ancres and Givenchy-en-Gohelle. We twice repulsed attacks from the Arras-Gavrelle-road to the Scarpe, and repulsed several attacks, including one by cavalry, southeastward, of Arras. . .
French attacks southward of St. Quentin failed. .
