Ths Federal authorities have in&iated a butter pool, to ensure adequate supplies for local requirements during the winter months. By this arrangement the States will contribute sixty thousand boxes. A committee will control the output of the factories, which will continue to see 80 per cent, of their output to agents for local sales in the ordinary way. The balance, 20 per cent., must be consigned to cold storage under export conditions.
