BOWLING

NELSON TOURNAMENT,

A bowling tournament was held at. Nelson during the. Easter holidays, and evidently proved a great success. Several Wellington rinks were engaged, and their fortunes ran as follows :—ln the first round Leighton, Berry, and Jackson scored wins. The Kelburn and Khandallah rinks were not in time for play. In the second round, Gray (Kelburn), Laughton (Khandallah), and Ledger won their games, and Bush was beaten. Third round : Corliss, Jackman, Mayer, and Laughton were the winners. The above games were played on the Nelson green. On the Maitai green Wellington links played with the following results :—First round : Ferguson and Pryor' won. Second round : Penney lost, Glaridge tied, Kinnear and Pryor lost. Third round : Claridge and Dimock won; Kinniburgh, Fairley, and Bailey lost.
