HOLIDAY STEAMER TRAFFIC
The war seems to have made very little difference to the holiday steamer traffic, and for the .past few, days every coastal passenger steamer leaving Or entering Wellington has had her accommodation packed to""its"utmost.; For instance, the Mamroa, which arrived in Wellington from the South this morning, brought up aver. 500, passengers of all classes, and. the#e were about '200"left 1 on the wharf at Lyttelton owing to the lack of accommodation. "r.The;Mapourika, which got in this morjiingJromjNelson . and Picton, had a full passenger ■ list, mainly of people returning,to Wellington after the holidays, and the Pateena, which is dw? in-from- tie same ports this evening, will also bring back a::.largo. number of people. ! And' it must -not-be supposed that the .-rush is over. The Union Company's passenger department this" morning was thronged with 1 intending passengers, and.it will be some little time before the rush subsides.
