SYDNEY, 9th April. For the continuation of the A.J.C. Meeting at- Randwick to-day . the weather was showery, and the going good. The attendance was larger than on Saturday. Despite . The Fortune Hunter's win in the Autumn Stakes on Saturday, the public favoured the chances of -Court Jester and Green Cap for the Sydney Cup. Prince Bar-d-olph, last year's winner, was prominent in the- early stages, but was unable to stay tllie distance. The Fortune Hunter was always handy, and again .beat the fancied division, scoring cleverly from the Australian Cup winner, Harriet Graham. R<jsults :—
: Flying Handicap, of 10 soys each, with 500 added; six furlongs.—La Steppe, 9.2, 1; Princess Dorrie, 7.6, 2; Three, 9.2, 3. There.-were seventeen starters. Dame Acre and Three were the first to show out.' La Steppe quickly went to the front, and led throughout, winning by two and a-half lengths. Time, Imin 13sec. | Champagne . From a good start •Chantemerle vand Coat o' Mail showed out first. Passing the stand the order was Coat o' Mail,' Karana.nd King, Bombita, Prince Bardolph, The Fortune Hunter, Green Cap, and ■ Chantemerle. At tihe mile post Prince Bardolph and Karanaud King went to the front. Ulva's Isle was first in the straight, The Fortune Hunter and Court. Jester moving up. First Steeplechase, of 1 soy each, with 400 sovb added; about two miles and a-half.—Old Mungindi, 9.7; 1; Glenquinn, 10.6, 2; Torone, 11.0., 3. There were eleven starters. Rongopai' unshipped the jockey. Old Mungindi went to the front at ,the ihome turn, and won by three-quarters of a length.. Time, smin 19isec. . .
First Nursery Handicap, of ,10 soys each, with.soo soys added; six furlongs. Fight Ever, 7.13, ,1; Throssel, 6.7, 2; Gwranang, 7.4, 3. There were eighteen starters. Lord; Mooltan made the early running. Fight Ever came away at the bend and won easily by eight lengths. Time, Imin 14isec.
' Toca-1 Handicap, of 10 soys each, with--500 soys added; one mile and a-qnarter. —Secret Service, 9.8, 1; First Principle, 10.2, 2; Chid, 8.7, 3. Twentyone started. Roman Queen was first to move.
