JOHNSONVILLE GOLF CLUB
~ The annual.report of the.Jphnsonville 'Golf Club states that the;receipts for the year, including a credit balance of £10 16s 5d from the previous year, amounted to £176 18s sd. The club will start its new year with £14 17s 2d in the bank and no liabilities. Throughout the season the greens were maintained in fair order, and some excellent rounds were put up as a result of the enlargement of the greens. The fairways have been cleaned, up and the creeks, cleared out. during the last few; weeks, so that members will have the course in good order. During the season inter-club matches "were played against Miramar, Waiwetu, Karori, and Paekakariki Golf Clubs. In most of the matches the club did exceptionally well. The fixtures arranged were carried out with success, several enjoyable club games being included. The Men's Championship was won for the third time by Mr. S. Kent, and the Ladies' Championship was secured by Mrs. F. •Buddie. Thanks are given to Mesdames W. Wallis and Morgan for supervising the afternoon tea arrangements, to Mr. Alex. Moore for doing the club's cartage free of cost, and to the president (Mr. W. Wallis) and Mrs. Wallis and Messrs. Alex Moore. P. Boiirke, F. C. Buddie, S. P., Andrew, and Capt. Sloane for donations and trophies. '
