ALLEGATIONS OF A FARMER'S STRIKE. ■ ' •

The Daily Chronicle states that the Government has decided to guarantee minimum prices for Home-grown wheat and oats for three ,years after the war.
Allegations are made in some quarters of the existence of a widespread strike of farmers owing to fixing the maximum prices. It is suggested that, the Government ought -to forthwith guarantee the prices for at least five years. If it does not induce the farmer to utilise his land with reasonable efficiency, probably the existing Ordei'-in-Council, and notably the Order cabled yesterday, . stating that the 'Board of Agriculture empowers local authorities to commilsorily take over
