Tho Wellington College Board ,of Governors met to-day. Those present wore tho Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, MX.C. (in
the chair), Messrs. W. Allan, J. P. Luke, '" W. H. Field, M.P., W. H. P. Barber, and A. Warburton. ... A return was presented, by the ;chair : man, showing- that tho credit balance was £2513 8s lid, and amounts to be paid .'£1145 l?s 6d, leaving a balance of £1368 lls sd. The fees outstanding were: ■ .Wellington College, £1638 14s, Girls' College £2489 17s sd, rents outstanding £77 16s 6d, total in hand and in sight £5574 19s 4d. . It was reported that 487 pupils were attending Wellington College—free places 426, paying 61; Girls' College,'pupils'at- 1 tending 503—free places.4o4, paying 98. g? ".The result of the' examination' at the j Girls' College was announced as follows: — f University National Scholarships, 2; passr ed Scholarship Examination with credit, 4; Matriculation Examination, 29 (including 4 partial passes and 2 complete passes); Public Service Entrance Examination, 25 (15 of them passed with credit, ono Dora. Pbwley passed second of all New Zealand); Senior National Scholarships,-4; ■ Junior National Scholarships, 6; Senior Free Places.. 51; Proficiency. Certificates, 10; Junior Free Places extended, 29.
