The German newspaper Vorwaerts learns (that .the President of the American Federation of Labour ca;bled to the president of the German Labour body on 9th February, and urged him to endeavour to avert a rupture -wit/h America. The latter replied that he could only influence ifche Government if America persuaded Britain to abandon ber starvation war.
