SELINSKY AMADIO CO.
A very successful season in Wellington is anticipated for the . Selinsky-Amadio Company, which is to give the first of three high-class concerts in the Town Hall Concert Chamber next Saturday night. The reception given to these talented artists in all the principal centres in New Zealand has been, most flattering. The programmes presented have been of a very attractive character, and the concerts have proved most enjoyable. The Auckland Star thus refers to one of the concerts given in the Northern City :—"Mons. Selinsky and Miss Masson gave a masterly performance of Edward Greig's Sonata for violin' and pianoforte in C Minor. Op. 45. Both artists were enthusiastically recalled, after which Brahms' trio for pianoforte, flute, and violin was admirably rendered. The violinist also distinguished himself in the Bach-Aver 'Sicilienne,' Alex. Zarzycki's Mazourka, Op. 26, and Naschefs 'Gipsy Dance.' Schumann's 'Dreaming' and Brahms' 'Slumber Song' were very delicately played, and gracefully phrased by the flautist, Mr. Amidio, whose other items were also much appreciated. That famous scena, 'Charmant Oiseau,' from Felicien David's lyrical drama 'La Perle dv Bresil,' received a brilliant performance by Miss Elsy Treweek and the flautist. Miss Treweek was also most successful in Brahms' 'Still is the-Night' and 'Spring Morning.'" The box plan opened at The Bristol this morning.
