DISPUTES FILED
ON LINES OF EXISTING AGREE
MENT.
The employers, in accordance with the decision announced last week, have taken steps to file industrial disputes at each port. Those for the four main centres have-already been filed, and for the outports a similar course will be taken. In each case a representative shipping company is the applicant, acting on behalf of the whole of the employers. The Waterside Workers Federation and the local unions are cited as respondents. The claims in each case embrace the conditions under the existing agreements at the various ports.
The Wellington dispute is set down ,to be heard by a Council o£ Conciliation on 12th February. The. employers' assessors are: Messrs. W. H. G. Bennett, W. A. Flavell, and J. M. Deck. The Lyttelton dispute is set down for 27th February, the assessors being: Messrs. S. K. Sleigh, Joseph Garrard, and N. J. Elliott,
