Lord; Chelmsford (Viceroy) presented medals and orders won in the war to two hundred Indian officers and soldiers. The decorations included. three , Victoria Crosses— Chattasirig, 9th Bhopals ; Nail Lara, 41st Dogmas ; and Kul Tiri Thapa,. 3rd Ghurkas. There were also several French and Russian decorations. • Many additional large presents to the war and other funds by native Princes and others were announced. At the end of December the Central' Relief Fund totalled 108 lakhs of rupees.
