SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

Owing to the large number of seamen in port at present, the concert arranged by Mr. A. Boyd, at the Sailors' Friend Society, was well patronised. A feature of the evening was the excellent playing of stringed instruments by Messrs. "Lewis, Brown, Selby, and Keene, of one of the shfps in harbour. The'following also contributed items: — Mrs. MacFarlane, Mrs. J. Lewis, Misses M. King, Banner, Stewart, and Dodds,> Captain MacFarlane, Messrs. A.. Boyd, Walker, Cole, and Hoole. During the evening the Misses Priest and Morrali presented the seamen with' buttonholes.
