The body of Mr. Robert Pollock, engineer of the coastal steamer Kapui, was found floating in Auckland Harbour on Saturday. Deceased was a. single man. When last seen he was leaning over a pile on the Albert Wharf, and Wiis talking, to himself. At tho inquest a, verdict of " Found Drowned" was recorded.
The Mayor of Christchurch stated yesterday that the poll of ratepayers on the proposal to raise a loan of £27,000 for purchasing and alterations to the Canterbury Hall will be taken on Ist March.
