' QUEENSLAND PROPOSALS.

BRISBANE, This Day.
-The Legislative Assembly read a first time the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Bill, which empowers the Government to acquire any land for the settlement of soldiers. It further provides for advances up to £500 for discharged soldiers, with repayment extending over forty years.
