MESSRS. O'CONNOR AND TYDEMAN. Jewellers, etc., Palmerston North.

One of the most attractive establish ments in Palmerston North is that of Messrs. O'Connor and Tydeman, watchmakers and engravers, whose connection with the trade of Palmerston North since 1900 amply justifies the prominence assigned to them in this issue. The large plate-glass windows of this firm's handsome emporium in the Square display to the utmost advantage and in great profusion a choice assortment of gold and silver jewellery, precious stones, watches, silver and electroplated goods for presentation, etc., the whole forming an. exhibition in no way inferior to that of the largest city establishment in New Zealand. The interior of this emporium is appointed on a similarly elaborate scale, and in the fine show-cases are displayed with, conspicuous taste all goods that come within the scope of the modern jewellery establishment. Mgssrs. O'Connor and Ty.deman are particularly noted for their manufacture in chaste and novel designs of brooches, bracelets, diamond pins, rings, etc., the prices and qualities of which bear a most favourable comparison with ihose of any contemporary firm in the Dominion. Of silver-mounted goods, such as cigarette and card cases, the firm hold a comprehensive stock. Their collection of ladies' and gentlemen's watches is particularly attractive, and here are offered for sale timekeepers of every description and value, from plain -but strong workmen's watches to the highly I finished ladies'- 18-carat gold ones. A large staff of skilled workmen are employed in the operative department, and the firm are in a position to execute orders of any magnitude, and have been remarkably successful in catering for the public in this respect.
