RUN OVER BY A RAILWAY TRUCK

! CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. James Daniels, a miner, aged forty, resident at Kaitangata, but who had been living in Lyttelton for the past few weeks, was hit by a truck at a railway crossing this morning. His head got under the wheels. He was shockingly mangled, being killed instantly.
At the inquest the evidence showed that Daniels threw himself deliberately in front of the moving truck. A verdict of suicide was returned.
