■ LONDON 23rd October. Sir Jacob Sassoon, Bart., one of India's merchant princes, is dead.
[Sir Jacob Elias Sassoon was bom in 1844. _ He established a Central College of Science in Bombay. He was chief partner in E. D. Sassoon and Co., merchants and bankers, of India, London, and China.]
