MASTERTON, 12th October

The Masterton Racing Club's Spring Meeting was held to-day in fine but dull weather, the course being heavy. The attendance was good. The totalisator handled £15.561, against £15,515 last year. Remaining results : —

Spring Handicap, of 225 soys; one mile and a-qiiarter.—6 Maniaroa, 8.6 (Goldfinch), 1; 3 Want, 6.9, 2; 5 Merrie Gain, 8.0, 3. Also started: 7 Multiply 8.10, 2 Gold Soult 8.5, 1 Montana'B.l, 4 Orleans 8.12, 9 Mystified 6.9, 8 First Consul 6.9. A good race. Won by a lengh. Time, 2min 21eec.

Ladies' Purse Handicap, of 100 soys; one mile.—4 Kurapai, 11.3 (L. M'Donald), 1; 1 Matlock, 11.12, 2; 9 Confusion, 11.2, 3. Also started: 3 Maraetotara 10.10, 2 Silenus 11.7, 5 Janitor 11.4, 9 To Opai 11.1, 8 Ulysses 11.0, 6 Lechat 11.0, Manaia Park 11.0. Time, 2min.
