"DR. BILL."
The final performance of "Dr. Bill" by the 'New Zealand Natives' Association Dramatic Society was given last night before a large audience. Patrons were kept in a continual simmer of amusement, and the piece went with a merry swing. After the performance the players were entertained at supper, provided by the New Zealand Natives' Association. Mr. M'lntyre thanked Mr. Chas. Blake, the organiser of the production, and sustainer of the principal role, and his supporters, eulogising their excellent services. He hoped to see the same company in another production before long, as he considered
"Dr. Bill" quite the best performance by amateurs witnessed in Wellington. He alluded to the benefits accruing to members of the association, such as discount on goods purchased in certain largo city establishments and medical concessions. Mr. Cummings, conductor of the orchestra, referred to the success of the season, and expressed the hope that his players would soon be the association's orchestra. Mr. Blake thanked the members of the company for their support, and remarked on the talent displayed. Their interpretation was the best he had seen since "Dr. Bill" was produced by tho professionals some years ago. Several members of the Natives' Association and performers made short speeches, and cheers were given for Messrs. Blake and M'lntyre.
