MELBOURNE SUBURBS FLOODED,

MELBOURNE, 23rd September. There has been incessant heavy rain for two days, and it continues. Some of the low-lying suburbs have been flooded, and the residents of several houses were rescued in boats. There are heavy floods .in some country districts. The rain was greatly walited, and will do an immense amount of good.

SYDNEY, 23rd September. The drought has broken at Broken Hill, and the town is partially flooded.
