The president, Mr. Alexander , Johnston, announced that a teachers' "social" would'shortly be held in,the city, and gave a hearty invitation ''to the suburban .friends to come in-and test the- hospitality of the union. THere have been feiglit lectures at Petone 'and: the- Hiftt, and 'all -have been well, attended and keen, .'interest shown by the -teachers -of the nine schools in the district. , '
