COLD NIGHT EXPECTED
The Government Meteorologist reports that there is evidence of a squally area to the southward of the Dominion, and a slight decrease in atmospheric pressure has taken place in Foveaux Strait. The weather is unsettled to-day, and squalls are likely to-night in and southward of Cook Strait. The barometer is unsteady, but tliere, is no positive evidence of a serious disturbance. Showers are probable on tho West Coast and in the southern districts, with fair to cloudy weather and a cold night generally. A small disturbance is due about* the middle of next week, but at present its dimensions are not ominous.
