GERMAN EXTREMISTS DEFEATED
HOLLWEG ATTACKS FALKENHAYN
(Received September 2, 9 a.m.)
LONDON, Ist September. , Mr. MacAlpin, writing from Paris to the Telegraph, states that a grand council was held, at which the Imperial Chancellor (Herr yon Bethmann-Holl-weg) attacked Yon Falkenhayn, aiming at the overthrow of the most violent members of the War Party. The mutual detestation between Hollweg and Yon Falkenhayn is notorious, whilst Yon Hindenburg was never a favourite with the General Staff, which lie constantly attacked as "cm-pet soldiers." Yon Falkenhayn's disgrace means the defeat of the extremists, including the Crown Prince, Dr. Helfferich (Minister for the Interior), and Admiral Tirpitz, and most of the General Staff.
