PARIS, 16th August. The Paris Journal gives details of the German food troubles. Ah ordinary meal, consisting of Indian corn soup, a slice of salmon, spinach, gruyere, and half a bottle of wine costs nine marks (roughly 9s); two slices of sausage and five grammes of butter, two marks; at the people's soup kitchens forty pfennig (about sd) will buy a litre (nearly a quart) of soup or stew made without meat..
