Moraghan's blk g Treadfire. 4yrs 3 Also started—Travena 9.0, Counterpoint 9.0, Don Francisco 9.0. Won by a nose. Time, lmin 19sec. Hunt Club Cup, of 200 soys; about two miles and a-balf. T. Hobbs' b g Traditor, by Cannie Chief—Betrayer mare, aged, 10.3, 1 Mrs. A. Macpherson's eh g Mawson, aged, 10.9 2 Tauriki, 9.9 3 Scratched —Ikowai, Kingsway, Cron Park. Traditor out-stayed Mawson, and won by half a length. Otupai and Waiparapara also finished. Time. smin 18 2-ssec. SUMMER HANDICAP, of 2000 soys; one mile. J. Calvert's b g King Star, by Martian —Rosiphele, aged, 9.0 1 F. S. Rutherford's- eh g Achilleus, syrs, 9.0 2 D. H. Roberts's eh g Fiery Cross, 4yrs, 9.9 3 Scratched : Maid o' Gowrie. King Star was iv front when they reached the straight, and won comfortably. Time, lmin 47 3-ssec. August Handicap, of 400 soys; six furlongs. Mr. Loring's br g Seadown, 4yrs, Downshire—Sequin, 10.2 1 J. Parson's eh g Oxenhope, aged, 11.1 2 F. Armstrong's b m Cherry Blossom, | aged, 10.9 3 All started. Derby Day was leading when they hit the straight. Seadown came at the - distance, and won by two lengths. Time, lmin IS 2-ssec. New Zealand Grand National Hurdles, of 1200 soys; two miles and a-half. Art, 9.10 1 Master Regel, 10.6 2 Sir Solo, 9.5 3 Scratched : Crown Pearl. Master Regel made the running virtually the whole journey, but in the straight Art wore him down, arxf won by a neck. Sir Solo two lengths away. Time, 4min 51 3-ssec.
