ITALIANS ON THE CARSO

IMPORTANT PROGRESS MADE

LONDON, 15th August. The Milan correspondent of the Daily Mail says that the capture of Nadlogen secures one of the principal defences of the northern entrance to the Carso. The Italians now dominate the Vertoilizza lines and the neighbouring slopes, and threaten Mount San Marco, a strong defence point south-east of Gorizia.

The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, 15th August, 3.20 p.m. A report from the Italian front last night states: The Italians repulsed several counter-attacks yesterday, capturing several sections of enemy trenches and 1419 prisoners.
