NAVY LEAGUE
A meeting of the local executive- of the Navy League last night was attended by Mr. J. B. Ha.rcourt (chairman), Messrs. R. Darroch, C. R. Smith, A. F. Wiren, A. Atkins, F.R.1.8.A., and C. W. Palmer. Concessions wore reported as having been made by H.M. Customs ajid the G.P.O. in connection, with shipments of "The Navy." Various correspondence from London and New Zealand branches was brought forward, and the seoretary'6 replies thereto approved. It was mentioned that a statement of accounts had been handed to the league auditors (Messrs. Gold and Arcus) with a view to tho holding of the annual meeting shortly. Mr. R. W. Shallorass was appointed bo succeed Mr. C. W. Palmer as secretary of the branch. The allotment of duties between the hon. secretary and the hon. treasurer (Mr. R. Da.rroch) was left in the hands of a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. C. R. Smith, R- Darroch, C. W. Palmer, and R. W. SliaUcrass. It was decided to have 5000 forms of membership appeal printed for circulation; also notices of a. meeting of ladies in connection with . the resuscitation of th^ women's section of the league.
