MIRAMAR CLUB.
Tho usual club competitions are being played this yaiir, but there are no trophies given, so that the whole of ■ the entrance fees go to the club's patriotic fund. On Saturday a. medal handicap was played, the best net scores being: — L. Whit-combo, 100 (24) 76; A. Erskine 86 (8) 73; H. R Balneavis, 32 (2) 80 'Phis ivas also the first qualifying round in connection with tho club champion ship, and the best gross scores returned were:—H. R. Balneavis 82, L. D. Hurst 83, Sergt,-Major- W. T. Doughty 8(1, R L. D. Kidston 86, A. Eiskine 86, R- P Ward 37, B. L. Taylor 88, T. G. Young 38, U. T 1\ Blun-dcll 3.9. The second qualifying round will bo played next Saturday.' WAIWETU. On Saturday the Waiwetu Golf Club held their monthly button competition (stroke).' A win was recorded for A. J Hobbs (18), with a net score of 85. Otbei cards returned w^re: J. M. Dawson (16) 86 and Dr. A. G Jones (14) 89.
