ORGAN RECITAL.
Another treat was provided for lovers of organ music by the City Organist (Mr. Bernard F. .Page) on Saturday evening, when a programme of items well known to regular patrons was submitted. The audience was only moderate, and it seems that the time when packed "houses" will attend these recitals is yet far off. The organist's technique and temperament were well disclosed in the opening Sonata of Borowski, while delicate handling of the "Pastorale" of Claussman showed Mr. Page in another yet equally happy light. The story of Pelleas and Melisande as portrayed by Debussy was well played, full scope being allowed in. the passionate passages. Bach's great Fugue in D Minor (Dorian) was once more interpreted in masterly manner, the various pitfalls with which the great work is crowded being negotiated without the least sign of hesitancy. Other items were "Harmonies dv Soir " (Karg-Elert),. "Scherzo in F Minor" (Sandiford Turner), and Piece Symphonique " (Salome).
