BRITISH AMUSEMENT TAX
The new British tax on payments for admission to entertainments came into force on 15th May.
The tax is payable for oil entertainments (such as thea_Tc_, music-halls, kinema theatres, concerts, exhibitions, shows, races, football, and other matches) and the amounts are as follow :— Adiinission Tax Admission Tax Up to 2d ... Ad 2s 6d—ss ... od 2d—6d Id 5.5—7_ Gd ... 6d 6d—2s 6d ... 2d 7s 6d—l2s 6d Is For prices exceeding 12s Cd the tax ii Is for tho first 12s 6d with an extia -.hill-ins: for every 10s or part of 10s over 123 6d.
