GREAT ARTILLERY ACTION
The High Commissioner repents:— LONDON, 21st June, 3.10 p.m. To south of the Somme an enemy detachment which attempted to enter the lines before Maucourt was dispersed by rifle fire. ; North-west of Rheims the Germans, after exploding two mines, attacked the trenches of Hill 108. Southwards of Berry-au-Bac they were mci by curtain fire and the attempt completely failed. On. both banks of the Mexise there has been great artillery action.
