In conversation with an agent' who has much to do with the supplying of farm labour, a Cliristchurch Sun representative was told that during tho last 'ew months there had been frequent visitors to his office in search of employment who obviously were trying ■to shirk their military responsibilities by getting into the country and by moving from plage to place. He had made it a, rule to proofs that eligiblelooking- applicants had either been discharged or rejected, and if these were not forthcoming ho had pointed out the way to the nearest recruiting office*. Employers usually made it a hard and fast .stipulation that no eligible mmi be sent io them, sv> that there had been little ehance of the ruae proving effective.
