■'-The ordinary weekly meeting of the French Club was he'd oi> Wednesday evening. Mr. Lattsy, a" vice-president, occupied the chair, and there was a goodly "company assembled. To. oegm with, Mr. Adfimson gave an interesting reading-, "La France." Mi. Cooke then gave a paper on "'The Riddle of the Sands," an edition ol which has been published in France. His paper dealt with the mam features of the work, and was illustrated' by extracts from ihe book and some blackboard sketches. On the uiction of Mr. Lattey, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to ill1. Cooke and Air. Adainson for their contribu-,. tions.
