MILITARY CASUALTIES
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS.

\ LONDON, 9th May. Mr. Asqmth, in the House of Commons, announced that the total military casualties in Ireland were : —Officers • Killed 17, wounded 46. Other ranks • Killed 86, wounded 311. Irish Constabulary : Killed 12, wounded 23. Dublin Police.: Killed 3, wounded 3 Navy: Killed 1, wounded 2. Loyal volunteers: .Killed 5, wounded 3. Nine soldiers are missing. After Mr Asquith's statement, Mr. A. Lynch (National member for Clare)* enquired whether the shooting of rebels was ordered in cold blood, after the complete suppression of the rising. Mr. li. Ginnell (Independent Nationalist for Westmcith) asked whether, before there werfi further executions, the House would have an opportunity of discussing the matter. •
Mr. Asquith declined to give such an undertaking, and Mr. Ginnell excitedly vcalled out, "Murder! Murder!"
