PETONE TECHNICAL SCHOOL
The monthly meeting of the Petone Technical School Board was held lastevening, Mr. J. G. Castle presiding. There were also present:—Councillors Cox, M'Kenzie (Petorje), Councillors Meldrum and Hobbs (Lower Hutt), and Messrs. Cunh'n'e, Welch, and Coles; i. An estimate of certain repair work' was received from the board's architect, Mr. F. de J. Clere. It was decided to proceed with'the whole of the work,, for which tenders will be' called. The amount of £85 was received from the Education Board to pay for work done in connection with the installation of the sewerage system. A pupil of the plumbing class, who was nob yet old enough to sit for his examination, and whose free place term had expired, is to be granted a further year's tuition free by the board. It was reported that Mr. Ackroyd had delivered an interesting and instructive lecture to, the wool class. The receipts and expenditure up to date were rispectively £335 4s 5d and £224 6s Bd, leaving a credit balance of £110 7s 9d.
