MR. CLEMENT WRAGGE'S LECTURES.

At the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on Saturday night, Mr. Clement Wragge repeated his lecture, "The Eternal Universe and the War," for the benefit of local patriotic funds. There was a large attendance. The lecturer commenced his address with a reference to tho lasting qualities of life. There was no death, only change. At present this small portion of the universe known as earth was passing through a period of destructive change but that would end, and a period of constructive change would follow the war. In the war two great spiritual forces were in conflict, and the right must triumph. Democracy, evolution, and freedom must attain the mastery over bureaucracy^' devolution, and slavery; but it would only be so when the lessons of the war had been fully learnt. Mr. Wragge left Wellington to-day, and will deliver lectures at various towns on his way to Auckland.
