GOVERNMENT CONDEMNED
BY TIMBER WORKERS.

DUNEDIN, This Day. The Federated Timber Workers of New Zealand, sitting in conference at Dunedin, resolved:—"That the Government be condemned for failure to protect the consumers of the Dominion from exploitation since the commencement of the war, and we regret its failure to provide a direct Labour representative on the Board of Trade." Further : "That the conference' protests against the recent Order-in-Council dealing with the suspension of the underrate workers' clause in awards, also the provisions of the Arbitration Act dealing with the same matter in connection with the employment of discharged soldiers."
