DISGUISED GERMAN' ESCORTSHIP SUNK.
The High Commissioner reports: — LONDON, 24th April, 11.40 p.m. The Admiralty announces that between Thursday and Friday, an attempt to land arms and ammunition, in Ireland was made by a iessel under the guise of a neutral merchant ship, but which was really a German auxiliary vessel acting in conjunction with a German submarine.
The auxiliary vessel was sunk, and a number of prisoners were taken. Amongst them was Sir Roger Casement.
