ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
The triennial conference oF the Church of Christ was opened to-day, Mr. W. Phillips.perisiding over a devotional service. At 9.30, Mr. Fleming MacdonaJd took the chair, and a warm welcome was extended to the delegates by Mr. Duncan Campbell. Greetings from District Conference and also from the Australian churches were received and read Ly Mr. If. Langford, conference secretary. The message from the chair was one of considerable interest, as it dealt with the work of the church in tihe peculiar and distressing circumstances through, which we are passing. The report and balance-sheet of the Church Extension Board were presented by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Hunter, and adopted. A resolution was passed recommending the churches to give at least 1 per cent, of their annual receipts. It was also resolved that £v\ board be incorporated. The following are the executive fey the coming year:—Messrs. Hunter, Williams, D. Campbell, G. Day, M. .Vickery, F. Evans, E. Vickery. The conference reassembled at 2 o'clock, Mr. Ralph Gebbie presiding over a very large attendance. A memorial service was held during the first part of the session.
