The Hon. T.. Thompson, M.L.C., who met, with a serious accident at Rotorua in January, resulting in the fracture of both arms, has made a very satisfactory recovery. The Council of the New Zealand State Service Association is comprised of three representatives appointed by each of the following bodies :—The Public Service Association, Post and Telegraph Association, Railway Officers' Institute, and the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. It was agreed at a meeting of the New Zealand Educational Institute to-day to join the council, and Messrs. H. A x Parkinson, A. Erskine, and A. N. Burns were appointed to represent the institute. It was stated that the council now act 3on behalf of over 20,000 Public servants throughout the- Dominion. The question was raised :>s to the position of the Educational Institute in the event of a strike being declared by one of the societies named, and the assurance was given that there was no fear of the institute being compromised through a strike occurring. The object oE the council is to safeguard and promote the interest* of State servants. Messrs.
